Mission Statement

In a region marked with past conflicts and numerous current challenges, the Southeastern Europe Security Center (SESC) is working to promote the region’s cooperation and progress towards democratization, consolidation of institutions, economic structural reforms and development, regional strategic infrastructural connectivity, and integration into the European Union and NATO, leading to long lasting regional stability.

The Center aims to produce cutting-edge multi-disciplinary analysis and develop strategies that promote diplomatic, economic, and intelligence collaboration among all countries in the Southeastern Europe, in cooperation with similar regional and international centers, think-tanks, and instruments in the field of international and regional security, counter-terrorism, cyber security, defense and global partnerships, offering the region new opportunities to build a common, safe and sustainable future, as well as new generation of forward-thinking political elites.

In an increasingly interdependent world, SESC work helps the region successfully deal with its internal and external security risks, identify global trends and emerging security challenges that could impact the region’s current and future security architecture, highlighting the importance of the region’s collaboration with its allies and partners, in the region and worldwide.
